1. Introduction
The Shomela Borwa Development Program (“the Program”), also referred to as the Shomela Grants, is an initiative facilitated by SAECONIX and SAEPRIS to support community-driven, developmental, social, and economic empowerment projects across various sectors. SAECONIX and SAEPRIS act as facilitators and coordinators in identifying and assisting potential grantees. All funding accessed through the Program is provided by independent third-party funders. SAECONIX and SAEPRIS do not directly finance applicants and bear no liability for funding decisions made by these third-party entities.
2. Purpose and Vision
The Program seeks to catalyze development initiatives that are innovative, scalable, inclusive, and aligned with national or regional developmental priorities. It aims to empower marginalized communities, entrepreneurs, and organizations through financial and non-financial support, with a special focus on impact-driven projects.
3. Scope of Funding
- Eligible sectors include but are not limited to: agriculture, education, health, technology, infrastructure, social innovation, youth development, and enterprise development.
- Grants may be awarded for feasibility studies, pilot projects, expansion, equipment procurement, capacity building, and operational support.
- All funding is subject to the strategic objectives and criteria set by the respective funders.
4. Nature of the Program
- Submitting an application does not guarantee funding, endorsement, or partnership.
- Applications undergo a competitive, multi-stage evaluation process.
- Evaluation is based on the project’s alignment with the Program’s goals, social impact, feasibility, sustainability, and organizational capacity.
- Final funding decisions are made solely by the third-party funders or a designated panel, independent of SAECONIX or SAEPRIS.
5. Applicant Responsibilities
- Applicants must ensure that all submitted information is truthful, accurate, and complete.
- Applicants are responsible for all pre- and post-submission costs, including research, proposal development, and compliance requirements.
- Successful applicants must comply with all reporting, monitoring, evaluation, and financial accountability obligations set by the funders.
6. Due Diligence and Verification
- All applications are subject to rigorous due diligence, which may include background checks, site visits, reference verification, and document audits.
- SAECONIX and/or funders reserve the right to request additional information or documentation at any stage of the process.
- False or misleading representations may result in disqualification, funding revocation, and potential legal action.
7. Data Use and Confidentiality
- Information submitted will be treated as confidential and used only for assessment and facilitation purposes.
- SAECONIX may share application data with third-party evaluators, funders, or legal authorities where necessary.
- Applicants agree to the use of anonymized data for reporting, research, or publication purposes unless otherwise stated.
8. Limitations of Liability
- SAECONIX and SAEPRIS shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the application or funding process.
- They are not responsible for any delays, losses, or rejections due to technological issues, incomplete applications, or funder decisions.
9. Intellectual Property
- All intellectual property contained in the application remains the property of the applicant.
- Applicants grant SAECONIX a non-exclusive right to use submitted content for review, evaluation, and communication with funders.
10. Amendments and Interpretation
- SAECONIX reserves the right to amend these terms at any time without prior notice.
- Continued use of or engagement with the Program constitutes acceptance of the latest terms.
- In the event of disputes, SAECONIX’s interpretation of these terms shall be final.
11. Acceptance
By submitting an application to the Shomela Borwa Development Program (Shomela Grants), the applicant affirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions and Disclaimer in full. Non-compliance or misrepresentation may lead to disqualification or legal redress where applicable.
